Chew Stoke Village Hall

The Village Hall is a multi-purpose venue. It is home to a number of village organisations – including the Parish Council, the WI, the Film Club, fitness classes and the Chew Stoke Drama Club. It regularly plays host to wedding receptions, children’s parties and private events.

Hire Charges Include the Cost of Heating

Facilities

Recently modernised, the hall is heated by radiators controlled by a wall thermostat, and has all the facilities expected from a user-friendly venue:

• Wi-Fi
• Audio visual equipment and hearing loop
• A substantial, well-appointed kitchen with crockery and cutlery, large oven, fridge and a commercial dishwasher with a 2 minutes cycle
• A bar equipped with its own fridge, freezer and glassware
• New toilet Facilities, with a disabled toilet and baby changing table
• Tables and Chairs to seat 80 diners in a restaurant setting, with 100 chairs usable in auditorium mode
• A curtained stage, a hall piano, and an electric keyboard

Bookings should be made via the booking calendar above and all users will be required to accept the terms and conditions of hire. It carries public liability insurance and is licenced for entertainment.

Heating: the thermostat is located on the left hand side of the Hall beyond the first window. It displays the ambient temperature. To increase that to the desirable temperature, press the + (plus) button until it is displayed. After the event, press the – (minus) button to re-set the thermostat to 5 degrees.

DO NOT ADJUST THE BOILER OR THE RADIATORS

We do allow the use of a bouncy castle in the hall; however, we kindly ask that you sign a waiver confirming that the hall accepts no liability.

Notice to hirers

Below are the major terms of hall hire. Please read the full Terms and Conditions section before booking.

• Tables should be cleaned, stacked safely in the trolleys and returned to the Store Room
• Chairs should be re-stacked and stored against the side walls
• The Hall Floor should be swept after use – brushes in the Store Room
• The Bar Area and Kitchen should be mopped clean after use – mop and bucket in the Store Room
• Crockery and Glassware should be washed and returned to the Bar and Kitchen
• Kitchen Worktops and Sink should be cleaned after use
• Any breakages should be reported to the Bookings Secretary – a charge may be applied
• All rubbish & recycling must be removed from the hall and taken away from the site
